Three years ago I packed up my parents' van and moved from Wisconsin to Washington, DC, where I'd never been before and where I knew no one. Today, I can't imagine my life any other way. I love this city, my friends, the events... it's truly a wonderful place. I also love fashion, politics, photography, romance, shopping, style, theme parties, brunching, and all things DC. Phew. I love a lot of things. So I created this blog, in the midst of one slow, sweltering August recess, to share the things I love.

A football fan with a killer shoe collection, I'll always pick Diet Coke over Starbucks, Aaron Rodgers over Brett Favre, and red wine over white. With a background in communication and philosophy, I have no idea how I ended up in government relations, but I love it. Today I work primarily with small businesses in the defense and energy industries. When I'm not working or writing, I'm spending time with friends, exploring the city, constantly dreaming and searching for adventure. I'm a single girl enjoying my 20s. And I'm continually reminded that life’s a beautiful thing, and really, there’s so very much to smile about.
